grand hotel building: Built in1841 and recently renovated, the Grand Hotel is an excellent example of 19th century architecture. It houses several small shops and restaurants.

legislature building: The island's Legislature building is housed in a lime green structure across the street from the original entrance to Fort Christian. Originally erected as a barracks for Danish troops, the building later served as housing for the U.S. Marine Corps and as a public school.

Magens Bay: The elongated horseshoe-shaped bay is known for its glorious one mile of white-sand beach and is a favorite of both visitors and local Virgin Islanders. Magens Bay was voted one of the top ten most beautiful beach by Conde Nast and the fifth most beautiful by National Geographic.

Mountain Top: Located 1,500 feet above sea level at the summit of St. Peter Mountain, this is a popular scenic viewpoint and shopping area. Mountain Top claims to be the original home of the banana daiquiri.

Paradise point: Ride the Tramway up to this prime vantage point overlooking Charlotte Amalie. Relax and enjoy the view of the harbor, where you can watch the seaplane take off and land, see cruise ships and view neighboring islands. It is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset, have a drink and a bite to eat, and do some shopping.

Synagogue: This temple, constructed in 1833 by Sephardic Jews, is the second oldest Synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. True to its original construction, this beautiful temple still has a sand floor. Adjacent to the Synagogue is the museum of St. Thomas Jewish History.

tillett gardens: Jim Tillett, an English silkscreen artist, transformed this former Danish farm into a thriving center for local artists and performers. In the workshops and stores of Tillett Gardens you'll find an abundance of artwork, jewelry, pottery, candles and other handcrafted items, as well as a day spa and restaurants. Now the home of the Pistarckle Theatre, the Gardens hosts art festivals and concerts.
